Charles Law Apparatus consisting of a capillary tube, sealed at one end with a calibrated scale in cm and mm. In use a mercury bead is inserted in the tube which can then be heated in a water bath to investigate temperature/volume for the enclosed air column. Readings are taken directly from the tube so there are none of the problems associated with attached rulers or elastic bands.
