UNILAB National Grid Demonstration

This demonstration model helps teachers clearly show how electricity is transmitted efficiently across the National Grid, making complex concepts accessible for secondary and college students. It provides a safe, hands-on way for learners to explore the use of transformers and the importance of high-voltage transmission in reducing power loss.

• Includes two step up/down transformers for converting 12V AC to 115V (nominal)

• 2 metre transmission line with touch-proof, BS EN61010:2010 compliant connectors

• Fibre glass pylons support the transmission line for realistic setup

• Interlock system ensures high voltage is only enabled when safely connected

• Integrated sockets allow safe measurement of high voltage using internal resistors
