Rotary Motor Investigations

Rotary Motor Investigations

CP00052024

Product code: CP00052024

Rotary Motor Investigation apparatus

Consists of a graduated tube, with rubber stopper attached to a length of wire which allows for student investigations into all aspects of rotary motion, simply and effectively.

It can be used to demonstrate:

  • Rotary Motion
  • Centripetal Force
  • Orbits & Satellites

The apparatus can be used to investigate:

  • How speed varies with radius
  • How speed varies with mass

Comes complete with full instructions.

  • Key Stage 3 Physics - Motion and Forces: Forces being needed to cause objects to stop or start moving, or to change their speed or direction of motion (qualitative only)
  • Key Stage 4 Physics - Motion and Forces: Recognise forces that cause rotation. Define the moment of such forces and calculate their values. Explain that motion in a circle involves constant speed but changing velocity (qualitative only).
  • Before swinging the bung, care should be taken to avoid any nearby objects, obstructions or bystanders
